Concrete behaves as a system
Slabs, beams and columns in an RCC frame carry load together. Removing an element out of sequence can change how load travels through the remaining structure, which is why order matters more than machine size.
Mechanical methods
Hydraulic breakers fragment concrete progressively. Crusher and pulveriser attachments reduce volume and free reinforcement. Cutting is used where clean separation is needed.
Sequencing
Work generally proceeds top down: slab, then beams, then columns within a level, keeping the remaining frame stable and debris fall direction predictable.
Site considerations
Distance to adjoining buildings, dust control, vibration near sensitive structures and where debris can safely fall all shape the method chosen for a given site.
Steel recovery
Reinforcement is separated from the rubble during or after breaking. Its treatment should be part of the commercial agreement rather than an afterthought.
